Marianne Schneeberger Pottery

Marianne Schneeberger is my fabulous, multitalented mum. Already during her studies to become a nurse she took courses in pottery and ceramics. Until today this passion of her never faded and she gathered a lot of knowledge, clay and tools over the years. Now working from her own little atelier  selling her artworks on markets and through her personal network she asked me for a logo and website.

The Logo

Most potters use their initials in order to mark their goods. The logo I created for my mum therefore should include her initials and be simple enough to stamp it on clay. Her favourite technique is creating art on the turntable, for the logo I used this visual and reduced it to the essentials. Two hands around a pottery bowl.

The Website

We wanted to keep the website simple and with only the essential information on there. The most important part being the work she has recently created. I used a simple black and white paper background in her atelier to photography with natural light coming from the windows. To keep it interesting and represent the slight humour my mum brings to her work (and everything she does) I animated some of the pieces with GIFs. A short about me section with a portrait for the extra curious ones and her contact information at the bottom finish off this one page design.

The Business Cards

The color palette was inspired by the natural tones of clay as well as my mums favourite blue glaze for pottery. While working on the turntable little chips and pieces of clay come off. I used these as inspiration to create a little pattern to use on the website as well as the business cards and product label. The cards and labels were printed on recycled organic cotton to give us this beautiful natural texture and in order to keep the print products sustainable.
